A Trip To San Francisco- Ways To Move Around San Francisco In Easy Way

San Francisco, California, is a densely-populated, large region within the state, a city and a county at the same time. Counting its inhabitants, it gets to be the 12th best populated in whole America. As for the density, it is the second in the USA. Being a transportation hub, the greatly developed infrastructure can be well complicated – to new visitors especially. Here are the best ways to get around as a tourist, with useful tips for those who experience SF for the first time.

312 A Trip To San Francisco Ways To Move Around San Francisco In Easy Way

Getting There

As an outsider you may want to know the most convenient ways of getting to San Francisco: by air and by water. Its busy airport, a leader in security and customer service, was the first large US airport to benefit of fully integrated and automated baggage screening. The airport is located 13 miles South of the city and is being served by about 50 airlines. Also, it has its own BART station connecting it to SF and the East Bay. BART subway system can be accessed from any of the 4 terminals by taking the SFO’s Air Train. For a limousine operator’s service it is necessary to make a reservation and also to arrange a pick-up location in advance. Travelers may also reach San Francisco by ferry.

Renting a Private Car as a Visitor

Travelers visiting San Francisco should avoid hiring a private car for themselves because finding a parking place can be a huge problem. Thus, moving around the city in a car by yourself could take much more time than initially thought. If you eventually get to have a parking place, you can expect to pay much for it. The regular rate is of $6 per hour. If you still happen to be driving around, note that the streets that go straight up and then down the hill can be difficult to deal with. Nevertheless, these are tempting for the beautiful views they offer. It is better to check these as a pedestrian, since the city is compact and walking is no trouble.

The Famous San Francisco Cable Car System

The cable car system has been in operation since 1872, and its vehicles represent the only moving landmark of the nation. There are three lines passing through the central area and their speed is a constant 9.5 miles per hour. Two of these lines take passengers to the best known shopping and banquet area, in Fisherman’s Wharf. The destination points are the Powell and Market streets. Note that, if the cars are full, they don’t stop to take in more passengers. If these vehicles cause excitement and curiosity, it would be good for one to visit the Cable Car Museum, an excellent educative spot for kids as well. It is free to visit and will let you discover so much more about these trademark cable cars.

What You Should Know About the Bus System

Tourists and locals of the Golden City by the Bay equally prefer to ride the bus.

But beware, #30 to Chinatown, especially during rush hour, turns into a cramped boiling pot

MUNI is the denomination for the city’s bus and streetcar system, and is known for being crowded and sometimes irregular. However, if you are looking for cheap means of transportation, this is it.

The buses San Francisco visitors love are the double Decker buses, which are mainly for sightseeing and stop at every place that’s worthy to take a look at. You can dial 511 to access information on the city’s transportation systems. In any case, if one will mix the public transportation methods in San Francisco, no spot is to be missed, as the various means cover the entire area.

Should You Go Abroad For Your Wedding?

When planning your wedding, the first thing to decide apart from your budget is where will the venue be? We hear about celebrities going to extravagant places all over the world and this can be appealing, so when it comes down to it, should you decide to get married abroad or in the UK? Well, the first benefit of going abroad would be the weather, it can be a lot more predictable that in the UK and if you want to get married outdoors then this might be the perfect option. You will also have a different culture and feel to your wedding if you go abroad, weddings in Greece for example are traditionally much louder and the families are very heavily involved with the planning. If you want a unique flavour for your wedding, then heading abroad is ideal.

However, the UK is still the chosen destination for the majority of us and for good reason. Firstly, from an accessibility perspective, getting guests to drive from one side of the country to another is much easier than asking them to fly across oceans. It is also a lot cheaper and unless you can afford to fly all of your wedding party out to meet you, you may find it easier to ask a large number of people to stay relatively local. Traditionally, the couple get married in the town the bride was brought up in, so families may decide that keeping it local is the most appropriate way to celebrate such a special occasion. Planning a wedding in a different country can also be very challenging, especially when considering that people are usually at work throughout the week and the different timezones. For those who want to check out the venue, speak to the minister etc. this might be simpler to do in the UK rather than over the phone or having to fly out once or twice.

So where are some of the top spots to get married in the UK? Well, weddings in Cheshire are the first to mention, one of the most romantic setting in the UK due to the vast countryside and rolling hills. If you want a wedding by the beach then Bournemouth could be the ideal spot for photos by the sea and a more relaxed Summer vibe.

Amazing Benefits of Travelling in Groups

Taking a vacation is always the perfect opportunity to relax and enjoy a different environment away from the normal life. However, going alone could prove to be boring and therefore you should consider joining a travelling group and especially one made of people who share your individual interests and those that you can trust. There are many advantages associated with travelling in numbers and below is a look at some of the reasons as to why you should consider joining a travel group.

group travel Amazing Benefits of Travelling in Groups

There is safety in numbers: Unlike when you are travelling alone, moving around in a group will help you enjoy greater security and especially against attacks from robbers and other goons. Any attacker seeking for an easy prey is always discouraged from targeting people who are travelling in a group and this is one of the advantages that you cannot afford to miss.

You enjoy great discounts: travel groups expose their members to prices that are significantly low and especially when it comes to issues such as accommodation rates and transport. There are many hotels willing to give discounts to travelling in groups of more than 5 people and mostly those who make advance bookings. To save more and enjoy greater services, group travel will be advisable.

Greater travel and excursion ideas: Unlike when travelling alone, travelling in groups enable you to come up with great plans and excursions that will make your holiday more enjoyable. Two heads are always better than one and two people can achieve more than an individual without much stress. However, always ensure that you travel with people of shared interests.

You enjoy more fun: Although travelling alone has some advantages and especially when it comes to flexibility, travelling in groups is always fun. Travel groups can easily negotiate different travel packages and even travel further unlike what individual trips can do. Unless you have a lot of money to enable free movements on your own, travelling in a group will be the best way to go.

You get a chance to make new friends: Travelling in groups also has major social benefits, as you will always get a chance to meet new people and make new friends. It is always an extra ordinary opportunity to interact with people you might not have met before and this is always a major advantage to look forward to.

It is environmentally beneficial: This is an amazing advantage that many people do not think about when it comes to travelling. Normally, predefined group travelling requires few vehicles as compared to individual travelling. For this reason therefore, the different people travelling together offloads the heavy ecological burden for the environment since there is lesser carbon emission from the vehicles used. This might not seem like an amazing advantage but it is worth considering.

Predefined group travelling is fast growing in popularity with more people seeking to reap the benefits and you must not be left behind. With the availability of the internet, finding reliable travelling groups is easy and you can connect with some amazing adventurers with whom you can tour the world and enjoy the best nature has to offer.

Tips For An Awesome Smooth Summer Getaway

A holiday promises a break from daily stresses, but often its preparations can prove quite the opposite! Rather than letting your summer getaway turn into a nightmare before it has even begun, instead take a moment to get organised to ensure it all gets off to a flying start.

Summer is undoubtedly the peak holiday season of the year and every July and August millions of people pack their bags and head off on vacation. However, as advantageous as this is, there are also many potential obstacles getting there. Below are some of the top tips to ensure your holiday kicks off without a hitch!

Book Ahead
As the busiest time of the year to travel, when it comes to your summer holiday it is imperative to book ahead not just to ensure you get a holiday to your exact specifications, but that you get a holiday at all! Rather than leaving your decisions until the last minute, therefore, make plans in advance and follow them through, covering everything from the flights to Bermuda to Leeds Bradford parking. As a reward for this, not only will you find peace of mind, but also that you are privy to a range of benefits that really sweeten the deal!

Pack Light But Pack Right!
Packing can prove a major stumbling block and, quite understandably, is not at the top of the list of people’s favourite pre-holiday preparations! However, it needn’t be the hassle that many people perceive it to be. Take time to sit down beforehand and figure out what it is you really need. Plan outfits around what activities you expect to undertake (for example, are high heels really a necessity on a camping trip?) and remember that clothes can be used more than once! Not only will making a list of items to take reduce packing stress, it will also lighten the load of your suitcase no end and leave all important space for those holiday souvenirs.

Allow Yourself Time
Nothing could be worse than starting your holiday by missing your flight and facing the potential of not even having a holiday at all! To ensure this is not a situation that you are faced with, make sure you leave home with time to spare. Keep in mind that most flights ask you to check in at least two hours before departure and factor in extra time for any hiccups along the way as a flat tyre is never something to celebrate and even less so when your flight is about to take off! You will find yourself both more relaxed and with more time to spend in the Duty Free!

A summer holiday can be the cause of stress before it has even begun. To avoid this putting a damper on proceedings, take time to plan your holiday and fine tune your preparations. This done, you need only focus on one thing, that is the fun at hand once you are away!

A Trip to Amsterdam

The city of Amsterdam is not your ordinary city. This is one of the conclusions I came to after my recent visit to Netherlands’ most famous city. There were a lot of excitements ranging from the canals, the various grand structures in the city such as the Tuschinski Theatre and to the risque Red Light district; the city is not short of places to visit. Besides, Amsterdam is very easy to navigate by bike, on foot or even by boat. Below are some of the lessons i drew from the experience.

The best time to visit Amsterdam

You can visit Amsterdam any time of the year since there is always something exciting all year round. But note that a lot of people prefer the summer months since the longer days and nice temperatures allow them to spend more time outdoors. This said, visiting at this time has its challenges which prior preparations can help you avoid. For a fact, Amsterdam is most crowded at this time and things are pretty expensive. Make hotel bookings well in advance if you are intending to travel at this time Otherwise, Amsterdam accommodations headaches will spoil your trip. Perhaps, the best time to visit is during Spring. This is before the tourist rush. In addition, the Keukenhof Gardens are opened to members of the public. You will definitely be thrilled to see the tulips.

Keukenhof Gardens 750x562 A Trip to Amsterdam

Where to stay

Take your personality into account as you book your hotel accommodation. Ask yourself whether you prefer a crowded place or an isolated location. If you are the wild type, then a location in Damrak will definitely do it for you. Damrak starts at the central station and runs through the Dam Square, the Sex Museum and the royal Palace while at the same time being a few minutes away from the Red Light District. But if you seek a more quiet experience, then your top Amsterdam accommodations will be in the Rembrandt Square which is in close proximity to the Tuschinski Theatre. Of course you will also like the nightlife in this area too.

TuschinskiGroteZaalDusen2 A Trip to Amsterdam

Some exciting activities

By all reasons, do not leave Amsterdam without riding a canal boat ride. Everything that needs to be seen in Amsterdam can be reached via the canals. The canals are one of the identifying features of the city. Take a boat ride and explore various parts while enjoying yourself. Your visit may also not be complete before a visit to the Tuschinski Theatre. Pay a visit to the grandest structure ever built in Amsterdam and be awed by the amazing architectural display. The Tuschinski Theater is a very unusual cinema. It is one of the major tourist attractions in the city. It is a cinema like no other. The rich style complemented with the events in the theatre will leave a lasting memory within you. In order to get the best of your visit to this facility, it is advisable to take a guided tour so that you do not miss out on any bit.

Great Destinations for Sailing a Yacht

Sailing holidays are the kind of holidays that never go out of fashion. They offer freedom, relaxation, fun and a little splash of luxury.

Sailing holidays open up your options when it comes to your choice of destination. Instead of being stuck to one resort, you have a whole region or even an ocean at your fingertips. You can take a sailing trip literally anywhere in the world but you don’t have to go too far to find some truly magnificent destinations.

Europe offers some brilliant options when it comes to sailing. The Mediterranean has many distinct regions which are littered with fishing villages, exciting cities and other lively ports. You could find yourself in places that you hadn’t even considered before.

The Adriatic

Take Montenegro for instance. This Balkan country, situated in the Adriatic is incredibly beautiful and with around 290km of coastline, you will never be without a destination. The Adriatic is the name given to the northernmost area of the Mediterranean sea and it boasts over 1300 islands, many of which can be found around the coastline of Montenegro. With crystal clear waters, the Adriatic is particularly good for scuba diving and snorkelling.

Another destination for great diving is of course the Red Sea. Acting as a border between Asia and Africa, The Red Sea is a fantastic tropical sea destination with an abundance of marine life as well as coral reefs waiting to be explored. Your skipper will also know the location of a number of shipwrecks, some of which also particularly old which makes for great diving.

The Red Sea offers a lot more than diving however. The scenery is simply stunning, The Sinai Desert, where Bedouin can still be found living the same nomadic lifestyle their ancestors have lived for centuries. For a little more in the way of modern civilization, take a look at the Jordanian coast, or Aqaba in particular which is a luxury tourist development with sophistication and high-end goods on tap.

9 Great Destinations for Sailing a YachtThe Tyrrhenian

Italy offers no end of stunning sailing locations as well as chances to enjoy the world famous cuisine. Specials vary from village to village and from town to town so you can enjoy something entirely new every day. As well as the mainland and destinations such as Naples, there are various islands such as Sicily. Located in the Tyrrhenian area of the Mediterranean, Sicily literally begs to be discovered by boat. The main island has numerous towns with beautiful ports, bars and nightlife on offer but the island is surrounded by numerous islets which you don’t get to see if you take a resort based holiday.

Taking a skippered yacht means that you don’t have to lift a finger if you don’t want to, just sit back and enjoy the sights, exploring as much or as little as you want.

Virgin Island An Entertainment Place To Visit

Virgin Island is indeed a wonderful location to visit for retreat, fun and leisure. The location refers to a group of islands found within the United States territory. However, only three of the islands are the main islands, the rest are small atolls. Saint Croix is the largest island followed by Saint Thomas and lastly Saint John is the smallest among the three islands. The location offers interesting services such as diving and snorkeling spot, white beaches, cheap shopping hub, mixture of Danish and West Indian cultures and probably American influence on food, language and other social aspects.

Those visitors who are interested in visiting this location are required to have a genuine passport which must be valid for six months after the date of entry. Without which, the individual will be restricted to cross other countries. If you do not have one, then you should look for it before the day of travelling. This may require that you visit passport sites to learn more about obtaining passports or even to get help on finding the nearest location to apply for passports. People are advised to visit the location between the month of April and June when the weather is favourable.

Saint Croix
The Island covers an area of two hundred and twelve square kilometers and is the largest of the three islands. It provides beautiful beaches, cultural events, unique art and crafts, music and interesting sporting activities such as diving, fishing, golf clubs among others. The excellent hotels located on the island offer great accommodation services and dining facilities. You can get here by either flight, Vehicle or Ferry.

Saint Thomas
It is the second largest Island among the three islands. The highest of point of the Virginia Islands is found on this particular island. This is because of the Crow Mountain found on this island. The mountain has a height of four hundred and seventy four meters. The beautiful beaches located in the northern and eastern part of the coast are classified as the best beaches found in the entire Caribbean. Historical sites and cultural activities are also among the tourist attraction features. For instance, Fort Christian is the oldest standing United States National Landmark structure in the virgin islands. The Museum also play a very great role in tourist attraction because it contains old maps, island’s memorabilia and other island’s historical materials. The old synagogues that are still being used in the United States and the skytsborg fortified tower currently known as Blackbeard’s Castle which is being used as a restaurant and a hotel also form part of attraction features on the Island. You can get here using a vehicle, a flight or a ferry.

Saint John
It is the smallest of the three islands and covers a total area of fifty four square kilometers. The Island has a rainforest belonging to the United States National Park, which acts as a home of diverse fascinating animals. It also has beautiful beaches and bays which are very attractive. Great recreational activities such as swimming and diving are also highly favored on the beach. Unfortunately, there is no airport on island and therefore tourists depend entirely on the ferry to get to this amazing destination.
